What I Wore - Vintage With A Country Twist

I have a surprise for y'all today. My other sister, Hanne-col, joined me today for a sisters outfit post. Isn't that exciting?? *grin*

What Hanne-col is wearing: Dress Anthro// Cardigan Kohl's// Belt Claire's// Boots Bass Shoe Outlet
What I'm wearing: Grey Pleated Skirt ASOS {seen here}// Cream Lace Blouse F21// Pink Cardigan {borrowing from Gabrielle} Old Navy// Belt Target// Brown Boots Target {seen here}// Burgundy Floppy Hat Target// Grey Heart Tights Target
The reason you see us with coats is because of, well, several reasons. One - It was only 20 degrees. Two - There was a bitter cold wind. Three - It was snowing. Four - It was freezing!!! But, I really want a picture of this outfit.

I ordered the skirt last week off of ASOS and it arrived yesterday. I LOVE it!! I can't wait to copy the design and make some more for this summer in a bunch of colors. *smile* The boots & floppy hat I bought yesterday in the clearance section of Target. I've been really wanting these boots since August when they first came out, but in grey. Sadly, they were all out of my size in the grey at the store. So I just went with the brown pair.

Hanne-col has made brief appearances before on BF. And since her outfit kinda had the same theme/style has mine I begged her to join me. As you can see, she agreed. *grin*

What I Wore - Pencil Skirt + Lace Blouse + Blazer

 Blazer H&M// Pencil Skirt made by me// Lace Blouse F21// Tights J.C.Penny// Flats Old Navy// Necklace F21// Belt Kohl's// Handbag Kate Spade {antique mall}// Sunglasses Kohl's
Since I worked for half the day today, I needed to wear something nice. And besides, I adore this lace blouse. It makes me want to add more lace to my wardrobe - like a lace skirt I've been seeing on Pinterest. Back to about the outfit...I added the owl necklace for a touch of whimsy {y'all know how I love my whimsy} and I love how it looks against the lace.

Tomorrow looks like it is going to be a sewing kind of day. Which is great since I haven't sewn one thing yet this year. I have some ideas floating in my head that all depend on if I have the right notions on hand to finish the project. I have this habit of not finishing a project if I don't have everything at the beginning {I have a garbage bag full of evidence if you need proof}. So I guess I need to go check my notions stash tonight.

I better get going. As I really want to try and get to bed early tonight. I have this habit of being a night owl. *grin*

What I Wore - Jewel Tones + Lace

Cardigan Target// Poodle Skirt made by me// Lace Blouse F21// Belt Kohl's// Earrings Christmas gift {Lauren Conrad for Kohl's}// Oxford Heels F21// Pink Sheer Tights J.C.Penny// Vintage Purse Antique Mall
I adore this outfit. It is a new combination - well, I hardly wear the same combination twice {unless I really love the look. Then I'll wear it a bunch of times}. *grin*

Well, I better get going. Tonight is movie night and......oh, dear....the cookies are starting to smell like they are burning. I better fly! Don't forget to check the details for the big blog event next year

Fall Fashion Challenge {Day 7} - Wear a Hat

skinny jeans forever 21// purple sweater shirt kohl's// long sweater kohl's// belt forever 21// bow post earrings forever 21// floppy hat forever 21// boots target
Today's theme was to wear a hat. Also, today is the very last day of the fashion challenge. How sad. I hope you all had fun!

A lot of you asked yesterday what pattern I used for my skirt. I used Marie-Madeline Studio's Route 66 pattern. You must try the pattern out sometime. It is one of my favorites.

Also, y'all will be happy to hear that tomorrow, I'll post pictures of my cocktail dress. *smile*

Now it's your turn to show your outfit for today. Link up your outfit below {remember, to use the link of your blog post, or a photo on a image hosting site}:

Fall Fashion Challenge {Day 5} - Polka Dots {& other prints}

polka dot blouse forever 21// cardigan forever 21// jean skirt made by me// heart tights target// oxford heels forever 21// birdcage necklace forever 21
Boy, was it cold outside when we took these pictures. {The things one does for a fashion event/fashion blog.} Anyways, today's theme was polka-dots {or any print you own}. In honor of print day, I mixed two prints in my outfit polka-dots on my blouse and hearts on my tights. Which is fitting as I LOVE polka-dots. *smile*

What I Wore - 1970s Inspired Outfit {Floppy Hat}

polka dot silk-blend top forever 21/ cardigan forever 21/ jeans maurices/ skinny belt forever 21/ boots target/ bird cage necklace forever 21/ floppy hat forever 21/ dangle earrings forever 21

I've been looking for the perfect floppy hat for a couple years now. When I first wanted one hats were not very popular - not like they are today. Then when hats were "in" I couldn't find a floppy that looked good on me. You know what I mean? So I was thrilled when I found this fedora meets floppy hat on Forever21.com a couple weeks ago. I placed the order for it last week and it arrived in my mailbox Wednesday. Which reminds me, if you are interested. I have a collective haul video posted on my YouTube channel.

When I was looking over these pictures I kept thinking of one of my favorite fashion bloggers, Jessica Quirk of What I Wore. She will wear outfits like from time to time {mostly in the Fall & Winter}. Which is fun! As she was one of the first fashion bloggers I followed.

Do you like it when there are lots of pictures in a outfit post {like this post}? Or do you prefer less pictures?

I ♥ Thursday {no. 15}

These adorable oxford heels that I bought on Forever21.com Tuesday night. I've been wanting a pair of oxford heels since 2009, so I wasn't about to let these slip through my fingers {like so many pairs before these} and become sold out before I could buy them. So I snatched them up right away. =)

I've been wearing this grey skinny belt with almost every outfit since it arrived in the mail last Tuesday. It is the perfect shade of grey and the perfect length. And for only $1.50 it's a steal.

The perfect amount of vintage & country charm.

I ♥ Thursday {no. 14}

I adore these mustard oxford heels from Forever 21. I was going to buy them this weekend. The sad news. They are all out of size 7s. Oh, well, I hope they get back in stock within the next few weeks so I can buy them. *smiles*

Mustard colored tights? Seamed tights? Both from Forever 21 for $5.80 = l.o.v.e

I've been loving Jessica Quirk's outfits. If you don't read her blog, go check her out now!

I'm looking forward to seeing Courageous tomorrow night. Who else is going to see this?

I can't wait to watch The Winning Team {1952} with Ronald Reagan & Doris Day. What can better then a baseball movie with two of my favorite actors & actresses?

What are you loving this week?

p.s. Don't forget to enter the fingerless gloves giveaway that is going on right now!

Random Thoughts...

This evening I'm sewing myself a new skirt. It's in the yoked style.
Just like the one below. :)

I'm hoping to wear the skirt tomorrow. That is if I hurry up and write this post. :p

While I'm sewing {um, and writing this blog post} I'm watching Lark Rise to Candleford {I'm only on season 1} and bits and pieces of a baseball game.

This afternoon I bought some things from Forever21.com. This hat is one the things I bought. :)

I adore this wall print! I'm hoping to win it in this giveaway. :)

Did you know that there are some new things in my Etsy shop?
I just added some new items yesterday. :) Go check them out!

Maxi Skirts for Summer from Forever21

Last weekend I went to a Forever21 store and fell in love with their selection of maxi skirts, cheep jewelry, darling tops, and some really cute belts and shoes. :) I must also confess, it was only the second time I had ever stepped into the store. But now I think that I really like Forever21.

 What's your favorite skirt from Forever21?
