Last Day of August

My last day of August was very Fall like (but only in spirit. as it was in the 90s) today. I made homemade hot cocoa and pumpkin empanaditas. Wore a fall-ish like outfit today (inspired by a picture I found on pinterest). And to top the day off, a bunch of vintage little girl patterns arrived in the mail today. What was your last day of August like? Are you sad that fall is coming? Or are you excited?

Chambray Tunic St. John's Bay {J.C.Penny}/ Mustered Pencil Skirt Made by Me/ Brown Belt Unknown/ White Tank St. John's Bay {J.C.Penny}/ Brown Wedges Payless/ Dangle Earrings Forever 21

inspiration for today's outfit.
I just look at the original post for the inspiration for my outfit and guess what?!? We wore our hair the same way! I can't believe that. And it's not a normal ponytail, but a wrapped ponytail! What are the odds of that happening?

I must tell y'all about my wedges. I bought them two days before our trip to LA this summer for only $4!! They are normally $30 shoes. Payless was having a big clearance on their summer shoes, AND giving out $3 off coupons. So when I found these for $7 I knew they were mine. Who can pass up $4 shoes that fit AND are cute!!! Not me. *laughs* I actually found lots of cute clothes on clearance when shopping for our trip. Everything I bought was $10 or less. I even bought a pair of dressy Maurices jeans for $10. It was pretty awesome.

I'm sorry I haven't been doing many regular posts, or any vacation posts. I've been not in a real blogging mood lately. But I have so much to blog about that I have to get my mood back soon! And I'll be having three giveaways in September. Isn't that lovely? Well, I better get going. Talk to y'all later!

Cream Tunic Anthropologie / Jeans J.C. Penny / Cameo Necklace Portobello Road Market / Eiffel Tower Earrings Etsy / Red Polka-dot Scarf Target

You may wonder, where is outfit number twenty? Well....I didn't remember to take pictures of my outfit yesterday until 10:50PM. Yep, just a little too late to take pictures of my outfit. It's really hard to remember to take pictures on the week-end and during the holiday's. So I'll just tell y'all what I wore. =) Let's see...ah, yes, I wore my shorts {hand-me-down Gap}, blue ruffle t-shirt {Ann Taylor}, red polka-dot scarf {Target}, and sandals {Forever 21}.

I really like the outfit I wore to church today. It's a little vintage-y and even a little dash of patriotic. You know what? I really like tucking my Anthropologie tunic into high-waisted skirts. It's cute and different. Oh, I also finished my birthday dress today. It's so cute and something Casey of Elegant Musings would wear. I can't wait to show it to y'all either on Tuesday, or Wednesday. ;-)

30 for 30 Remix - Outfit 19

White Tank J.C. Penny / Yellow Striped Cardigan Target / White Skirt made by yours truly / Cameo Necklace Portobello Road Market / Owl Ring Kohl's / Sandals Forever 21 / Purple Leaf Earrings AmandaBeth Online

When I woke up this morning it just felt like it was going to be hot. Do you ever get that feeling? Well, I do and I had that feeling today. So I dressed accordingly - in white with a pop of color. One of my favorite looks in the "good old summertime." {comment if you know where I got that from.} =)

I'm so excited that after tomorrow I'll only have 10 more outfits to do! The end is near! How exciting is that! But you know what? I've enjoyed posting my outfit posts everyday.

My friends Emily Rose and Breezy of Noble Rose Press are having a sale. All of their paper dolls and coloring book are on sale for $7 until Monday, July 4th, at Midnight. I adore their paper dolls! They are all Christian ladies of our past and they are dressed modestly. Plus they just look beautiful! If you haven't heard of them before go check out their website and blogs.

Also as today is the first day of July. I have a bunch of new sponsors that you can find on the sidebar. Be sure to check out their sites! I won't do a sponsor post right now because you will find out all about them on July 5th. ;-)

30 for 30 Remix - Outfit 18

1940s Jean Jumper made by yours truly {pattern review} / Hot Pink Blouse J.C. Penny / Tan Boots Target / Black Belt Forever 21 / Floral Dangle Earrings Etsy {won in a giveaway}

I've worn an outfit like this before on the blog - just with a different belt & pair of earrings. But I knew this outfit looked nice and I needed an outfit fast this morning for work - a dressy one too. Tomorrow I'm going to try and be more creative with my outfit. But I have to be careful and not wear too many red, white, and blue outfits before the 4th. As I love dressing for the holiday's. =)

30 for 30 Remix - Outfit 17

Floral Skirt Made by me / Chambray Tunic J.C. Penny / Red & White Stripes Tank J.C. Penny / Red & White Polka-dot Earrings Etsy / Sandals Forever 21/ Owl Ring Kohl's

Look what I did. I mixed two patterns together again. Yep, I've done it twice this week so far. Woo hoo! What other fashion rules will I break this week? :)

I started working on my birthday dress today. I'm using Marie-Madeline Studio's Summer Shade jumper pattern. And guess what?!? I will be mixing patterns once again. Boy, I'm on a roll right now. =)

30 for 30 Remix - Outfit 16

Cream Tunic Anthropologie / Patchwork Skirt Made by yours truly {post} / Tan Boots Target / Black Skinny Belt Forever 21 / Layer Necklace Bass Shoe Outlet / Owl Ring Kohl's / Pink Rose Ring Etsy / Floral Drop Earrings Etsy

I found my new favorite outfit today. Isn't it simply darling?!? The shirt is really a tunic, but as these are these are the only two pieces of clothing left in my closet for the challenge {I didn't wash my clothes on purpose. This forces me to be more creative.} I decided to just tuck the tunic in my skirt. This gives me so many ideas on different ways I can wear my tunics {including this one}. So be bold. Do something unique. Try something new tomorrow, or even this week with one piece in your closet and post pictures on your blog and let me know that you did something different too. =)

30 for 30 Remix - Outfit 11

Red & White Stripe Tank J.C. Penny / Navy Blue Cardigan Old Navy / Jeans J.C. Penny / Red Polka-dot Scarf Target / Owl Ring Kohl's / Earrings Kohl's / Sandals Forever 21

Today's outfit is very nautical. With the stripes you know. You know what? I love wearing this red striped tank with my polka-doted scarf. It was my go to last summer. :) Speaking about the nautical trend. There is a fabulous Old Navy nautical jewelry giveaway over @ She Hath Done What She Could. Also @ Respect the Shoes you can win a set of Rebecca Minkoff pouches that are very nautical too. Today is just a very nautical day. Did any of you wear the nautical trend today? -_-

30 for 30 Remix - Outfit 10

1940s Jean Dress Made by yours truly {pattern review} / Black Belt Forever 21 / Yellow w/white stripes Target / Tan Boots Target / Lilic Drop Earrings Etsy {won in a giveaway} / Yellow Flower Ring Stella & Dot {won in a giveaway} / Sense & Sensibility Patterns Umbrella 2009 London Historical Costume Trip

I love today's outfit with the bright punches of yellow. It gives the outfit a kinda of Kate Spade feel. But the boots add that country touch - which I love! Want to know something funny? I love cowgirl boots, country kitchens, big wrap around the house porches,   farmhouse sinks, and the like. But I'm not a big fan of living in the country. I prefer the city. :p Maybe I just haven't seen the perfect house and location yet. Though, I do like Texas and Virginia.

30 for 30 Remix - Outfit 9

1950s Red Sundress made by yours truly / Chambray Tunic J.C. Penny / Owl Ring Kohl's / Bracelet c/o Shabby Apple / Tan Boots Target

Today's outfit is very cow-girlish. I feel like I should be on a ranch working back in the 50s. Must be from watching Roy Rogers & Dale Evans movies. :) And yes, I'm wearing my chambray tunic again this week. I think I like it much better with this sundress. It fits the style of the dress and the fabric.

Oh, before I forget. My party supplies arrived today in the mail. As you can see, I went with the pink polka-dot straws and plaid cupcake papers.

30 for 30 Remix - Day 4

Striped Shirt Kohl's / White 1920s Dress made by yours truly / Anchor Necklace Forever 21 / Sandals Forever 21 / Pearl Earrings Gift

Yesterday I broke the rules. I wore a shirt that wasn't from the thirty items I picked out. But that is ok. I was painting a bedroom set for a film that is going to filmed this summer. :) I didn't get any pictures because first, I was just wearing my jeans, favorite baseball team t-shirt, sandals, and pearl earrings. Nothing fancy. Which was the point. So today's outfit is day four of the thirty day challenge, even though technically it is day five.

I was feeling very nautical today. Hence the stripes and anchor. I don't know if you noticed, but I'm not wearing a white skirt instead I just pulled my top over the white dress. The nice thing is that you have a built in tank underneath.

Today I burned movies unto DVDs and worked on creating a whole new look for Bramblewood Fashion. The new look might be released next week. It depends how fast I can get it done. I'm hoping that new look will load a lot faster and there will be more room for sponsors. :) Here's a sneak peek to the new look.

Like it? :)

30 for 30 Remix - Day 3

Hot Pink Blouse Hand-me-down {J.C.Penny} / White Linen Skirt Made by yours truly / Cream Cardigan Gap Outlet / Cameo Necklace Portobello Road Market / Tan Boots Target / Earrings Etsy {won in a giveaway} / Ring J.C.Penny

I suppose I must give you the story on the change of background. :) The pictures were taken on our Church grounds - which are beautiful! The wood behind me in the last picture is from a tree that lived during the 1700s. Isn't that amazing. :) Back to why I was at Church. Once a month a bunch of us girls cook and serve lunch for the Seniors in our church. I've been doing it for several years now.

The next two days will be interesting for my outfits. I'm going to be working on building sets for a movie and well, the clothing I pick out isn't the best for that type of work. If I knew earlier that I would be working on a movie set, I would have picked out a t-shirt or something more casual than blouses, nice skirts, and dresses. But then again, my style is more of a dressy type than casual.

30 for 30 Remix - Day 2

1940s Jean Dress Made by yours truly {pattern review}/ White Blouse Kohl's/ Black Boyfriend Blazer J.C.Penny/ Floral Earrings J.C.Penny/ Tan Boots Target

I love my 1940s jean dress. You can wear it as a sundress, jumper, or skirt! Which makes it great for traveling. :) I also like that I found another way to wear my boyfriend blazer. It is so hard to style - yet I love it! Oh, well. This challenge will hopefully help me with styling the blazer.

Maxi Skirts for Summer from Forever21

Last weekend I went to a Forever21 store and fell in love with their selection of maxi skirts, cheep jewelry, darling tops, and some really cute belts and shoes. :) I must also confess, it was only the second time I had ever stepped into the store. But now I think that I really like Forever21.

What's your favorite skirt from Forever21?
