Movie Reviews {No. 1}

I decided to do a new series to help me do more movie review posts on the blog. It is just simply called, Movie Reviews - nothing fancy.

The Milkman {1950} Starring: Donald O'Connor & Jimmy Durante - Roger {Doanld O'Connor} wants to work at his dad's company as a milkman but he won't let him because of his lingering war trauma: when he is stressed he quacks like a duck. Determined to go to work as a milkman he goes to work for his father's arch-rival. The movie then follows his crazy adventures as a milkman.  I have been wanting to see this movie for awhile now - maybe a year now? So I was thrilled to find a channel with Donald O'Connor movies on YouTube earlier this month. The first movie on my list to watch was, The Milkman. It is awesome, hilarious, and just plain wonderful. What can be better than a movie with both Donald O'Connor & Jimmy Durante? Maybe another movie with my favorite actor/singer & Jimmy Durante? *grin*

Yes Sir That's My Baby {1949} Starring: Donald O'Connor, Charles Coburn, Gloria DeHaven - A group of ex-GIs are attending college and they want to play football. But their wives say they need to grow-up and help them with the baby when they attend their classes. Eventually the husbands win over their wives to letting them play football. This movie was very cute! It was fun seeing Donald O'Connor as a young father too. This could be considered a light heart romantic comedy - you will see why when you watch it. As I don't want to giveaway too many details of the movie. But I dearly loved this movie. But then again, how can you not like Donald O'Connor?

That Funny Feeling {1965} Starring: Sandra Dee, Bobby Darin, and Donald O'Connor - Joan Howell {Sandra Dee}, a maid-for-hire and actress on the side, keeps bumping into Tom Milford {Bobby Darin}, a wealthy New York businessman, while going around town. They finally decide to go out on a date after they keep bumping into each other. After the date Tom wants to escort Joan back to her place. But Joan is embarrassed of tiny apartment that she shares, so she takes him to one of the apartments she cleans saying it is her place - the catch is, she doesn't know that the owner of that apartment is in fact her date, Tom. He plays along with the charade, while not knowing who Joan really is. The movie then follows all the crazy process of them finding out who each other really is. This is one of those light hearted 1960s romantic comedy movies that are just adorable! Every line that Doanld O'Connor said throughout the movie had me & Gaby rolling with laughter. Sandra Dee has an adorable wardrobe - and she is just too cute herself! {I saw many outfits I wanted to copy!} And be warned, the main song: That Funny Feeling will get stuck in your head. 

My Memories Suite {Review + Giveaway}

I was so excited when My Memories contacted me about doing a review and giveaway for their My Memories Suite program. I've always eyed the scrapbooking programs at stores like Best Buy, but the price always scared me away from buying any of them. Plus, when I bought my Macbook last year, I thought I wouldn't ever be able to find a program that could work on a Mac, as most programs are for PC's. Of course, the first thing I checked out when they contacted me was to find out - do they work on Mac's? And they do! Which is awesome!


One of the nice things about the My Memories Suite program is there are no cd's. You just download the program directly to your computer. That means once you buy the program you can start downloading right away - there is no waiting for it to arrive. (I have a hard time waiting for packages to arrive if I really love the item within the package.) *laughs*

What I love most about the program is that it is easy to work. It has a drop and drag system which I adore (which may only be because I have a Mac)! It makes it so easy to add photos to my projects. Want to know something else? You can add video and music too! Plus, you can use the program to make more than scrapbooking pages. Movie Review:: I Love Melvin {1953}

I watched a simply charming movie last night. Its name, I Love Melvin. Starring: Donald O'Connor and Debbie Reynolds. Both who are favorites of mine. *smiles* It was delightful to see them paired together after appearing together in Singing in the Rain {1952}. I have to say, I think O'Connor & Reynolds are just adorable together {I kinda wish Reynolds was paired with O'Connor in SItR instead of Gene Kelly}. 



The movie is about a girl who is trying to make it in the acting world. Who has a protective family, and a rich boyfriend who wants to marry her (but she doesn't truly love him. Her father loves him as he has security {money}). One day in a park she bumps into a boy who is an inspiring photographer for LOOK magazine. Who after they meet he promises to have be on the cover. It is just a whirlwind of events after that. I don't want to give away too much of the story to y'all! ;-)

Debbie has one adorable wardrobe in this film. In fact, I wished everything she wore could just jump into my closet - hair included. *laughs* But I mean it. Everything is so cute! There wasn't one thing I didn't like that she wore. That is kinda amazing. 


One of my very favorite outfits of hers was in the dance scene, Who Taught You to Dance?. Too cute! There was one interesting thing about her skirt. Her petticoat was attached to the skirt. I'm guessing this is not the norm, and they only did it for her to get dressed quicker in the scene.

Lilla Rose Flexi Clip Review & Giveaway {CLOSED}

Way back in early February, I was asked to do a product review of the Lilla Rose Flexi Clip. I thought about it, looked over the website and decided to do it. I've just taken a long time on my part on getting this review going. Sorry about that.

After pouring over the website trying to pick the clip I want to review. I finally decided on the pink fairy. Let me tell you girls, it was so hard to choose just one. They have a wide selection of clips, one for everyone's style; which is wonderful!

I picked the small size, though I should of picked a smaller size for the way I fix my hair. I didn't realized how thin my hair was until I tried this out. I can still use this and I LOVE it!!! I love that the pin is attached to the clip. Meaning you won't be loosing pieces. If you are like me, I'm always loosing things, so this is great.

I wanted to have pictures of me wearing my flexi clip, but my photographer, A.K.A. Gabrielle, came down sick this weekend. :(

But, I do have wonderful news!!! Jennifer Allen, who contacted me about doing this review also wants to give one of you the flexi clip of your choice!!!
